
The Academic Integrity Policy
This policy applies to all students registered in any course. Any student who violates the standards of academic integrity will be subject to appropriate sanctions
- Describes those actions and behaviors which violate Carleton University’s standards of academic integrity
- Defines the responsibilities of various offices and individuals in upholding the policy
- Specifies the procedures and processes to be followed when an allegation of violation these standards have been made against a student
- Specifies the sanctions that may have applied to a student who has been found to have violated the standards
- Describes the appeal and petition process open to students who feel they have been treated unfairly under this policy
- The academic integrity policy applies to all registered students
Principles
- Carleton University seeks to ensure that allegations of violations of this policy are managed appropriately
- Allegations shall be handled in a fair and equitable manner
- Students will be advised that they can seek assistance from Ombuds Services to guide them through the allegation of violating academic integrity
- Investigative procedures shall be conducted in a timely and consistent manner
